One local company is among the top 100 greenest companies.

Whirlpool Corporation came in at number 78 on Newsweek's list of the 500 greenest companies in the U.S.

The analysis examined the country's largest companies based on revenue, market capitalization and number of employees.

Whirlpool came in behind Clorox and ahead of Google. Hewlett-Packard took the top spot on the Newsweek list.
