Warren County officials have approved construction of a plant that will produce 115 million gallons of ethanol a year.

The South Dakota-based Poet LLC that wants to build the 260 million-dollar plant says it's the their largest yet. The company expects to begin construction next year on land near the small town of West Lebanon, about 35 miles west of Lafayette.

The plant is expected to have 44 to 48 employees.

Poet operates facilities in Jay and Madison counties and is constructing a third in Wabash County. The Warren County plant would be the company's fourth in Indiana.
