First Federal Savings opens first green bank in Indiana
Everything used to build the new bank, from the countertops to the carpeting and furniture, is environmentally correct.

I don't think the question is, "how cost effective is going green?" because doing the cheaper option doesn't make it a better option. The issue is cost benefit, do the benefits of going green justify the associated costs? I wonder what society will say in 100 years, we should have been more serious about going as green as possible, or going green was useless and a waste of money.

Very cool! And an appropriate day to be starting out something new green!

I know everyone is going to jump on the bandwagon with this "going green" thing. But I have one question........ Is it truly cost effective? I am all about saving the envrionment, but how expensive is it to replace these items as they wear out? I guess I am playing devils advocate here.....

This is awesome. Too little too late, but at least someone is trying.

I wonder how much extra all this cost and how much extra energy was used to build the various green components. There's a lot more than meets the eye with these issues. It's easy to say Oh I have solar and I have wind turbines and I have carpet made from corn and so on and so forth. If what they did acually is worth it and I say more power to them.
