A 27-year-old Detroit man is being questioned in the theft of music and recording equipment from a home belonging to former Motown star Martha Reeves.

Detroit police spokesman James Tate says the man was arrested at his home Thursday after some of the stolen items turned up at a local pawn shop.

An employee at Al's Jewelry and Loan tells the Detroit Free Press that the shop was sold microphones and other electronic equipment with Reeves' name on them.

She says the seller's driver's license information and thumbprint had been turned over to police.

Reeves had said earlier this week that about $100,000 worth of equipment she has collected was stolen over the weekend. She had originally estimated the value of the equipment at about $1 million.
