Angela Bassett says when she moved from New York to Los Angeles in 1988, she only planned to stay six months. But she hung around Tinseltown and now she's become a permanent fixture at one of its biggest shrines to celebrities.
She and her husband Courtney B. Vance were among those on hand as Bassett got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She says the day was "glorious," especially since it didn't start out that way.
She notes the day started out cloudy, but then the sun burst through.
Among the guests at the unveiling ceremony were Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne and Rick Fox. She is also in Tyler Perry's new movie, "Meet the Browns," which starts playing today.
