The review period has started for Benton Harbor schools. Tuesday night the public will have a chance to hear more. The district will be holding a town hall meeting at 6:00 p.m. at the high school.

According to our reporting partners at WSJM Radio, the 30 day review period started on Monday.

The state superintendent says an $18 million deficit is a big concern, along with late payments to the schools' retirement fund and a low number of employees without contracts.
