SB School Board to consider Schmidt's contract agreement

She's got the job, but South Bend Schools Superintendent Dr. Carole Schmidt still doesn't know what it pays.

The mystery could be solved this afternoon, as the school board meets to consider a tentative contract agreement.

South Bend's last superintendent, James Kapsa, made $145,000 a year.

Sources say Schmidt will likely make more.

For a little perspective, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg makes just over $96,000 a year, about $50,000 less than the last superintendent made.

Thursday's meeting starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Education Center.
