Seven groups of Michigan State University students have made it to the finals of a new business plan contest.
The seven teams are to participate in Broad MBA Business Plan Competition on Saturday. Nineteen teams with 74 Michigan State students entered the contest.
Among the seven projects making it to the final round are a proposed company to make electronic leashes for more humane treatment of dogs, an Internet payment technology for rural India, and a company to promote a technology for reheating thermoses.
A team of academics and business people narrowed down the
entries to the seven finalists, announced March 18.
The winning team shares $3,000 and gets travel support to
next-level competition on a state, regional or national level.
