Buying textbooks for school can be expensive, and the cost of student loans has gone up 25%

Classes are underway at several colleges around Michiana, and the bookstores are busy with students.

Hammes Bookstore offers a program that helps students deal with the costs of textbooks called Rent-a-Text.

Students only pay half of the amount, as long as they return it. The students can highlight and write in the books, as long as they can be reused.

Keith Kirkpatrick of Hammes Bookstore joined Joel Schipper on 16 Morning News to show just how students can keep the costs down when getting ready to head back to class.
