Indiana University says total enrollment at its eight campuses around the state has topped 110,000 students for the first time.

School officials say the fall semester enrollment set records at the main campus in Bloomington and the regional campuses in Richmond, Fort Wayne, Gary and New Albany.

The Herald-Times reports that IU's statewide enrollment for the fall semester of 110,436 is up nearly 1 percent from last year.

University President Michael McRobbie says the figures show that more families are finding in an IU education and that the university is attracting a greater share of Indiana's top high school graduates than ever before.
