and why doesn't the government factor OUT retirement savings when filling out a FASFA form? if you have anything in savings, as a parent, they want to know. that way your child doesn't qualify for public aid. i guess they would just have everyone work until they die and NOT save for retirement that way they whole country can be on welfare.

The Collages and Universities want to increase tuition 122 percent for students. Lets look at some facts from the Indianapolis Star newspaper (http://www.indystar.com/data/government/state_salaries2008_results.shtml ). The President of the United States is payed $230,700 per year. The President of Indiana and Purdue Universities each make $450,000 per year. The Governor of Indiana is payed $95,000 and his pay is not even close to the highest payed person employed by the state. The top 1000 state employes make over 144,000 dollars per year each. And 972 of that 1000 are employed by our state Universities. Are you starting to get the picture. The tax payers of Indiana are struggling to keep food on the table and make their mortgage payments, and the so called Professors and Administers are voting themselves pay increases. I have heard every excuse there is why they deserve these exorbitant wages, none of which I believe. Its time they get payed what they are worth not what they think they worth. There are 194 that make over a quarter million dollars a year, and 245 that make over 200,000 a year, all at Universities. Do you see something wrong with this picture ?

the cost of benefits / health insurance alone has far outpaced the inflation rate, along with soaring fuel costs to heat and maintain the bricks and mortar of these institutions.

Plus the high cost of fuel affects EVERYTHING from products made with oil to the cost of food... it is a no brainer. How much of our tax dollars are going to be wasted on this project?

This is differant Myrt, it only affects wealthy families, I dont know anyone who has kids going to ND because we cant afford it before rising costs. A certian party in this country is very interested in taking care of their own, if you know what I mean
