Dental students at IU South Bend are holding a free dental sealant clinic on Sat. March, 2.
Sealants are thin plastic coatings, painted around the chewing part of the tooth. They act as a barrier to prevent cavities.
Today's event is primarily for children five -years-old or older, but students say anyone is welcome to come have work done.
The services take place at the IUSB Dental Hygiene Clinic on Northside Blvd. in South Bend.
Walk-ins are welcome from 9 to 10 a.m. on Sat. morning and then again from 1 to 2 p.m.
Volunteers encourage people to call (574) 520 4156 or e-mail: dhclinic@iusb.edu to make an appointment.
They expect more than 100 appointments to be made.
