The grandson of the namesake for Edsel Ford High School is on tap to give the commencement address at the suburban Detroit school.
Edsel Ford II is scheduled to speak Friday at the Dearborn school. The elder Edsel Ford was the son of Ford Motor Co. founder Henry Ford.
The high school opened in 1955 on land donated by the company.
Edsel Ford died in 1943.
Edsel Ford II has held many executive and consulting roles for the company and has served on several charitable organizations.
The elder Edsel Ford also was the namesake for the ill-fated
Ford model introduced in late 1957 and shelved in 1959. The Edsel
is one the most famous automotive flops but still has its enthusiasts.
