Davenport University is naming its new downtown Grand Rapids location for the late businessman and philanthropist Peter C. Cook.
A dedication of the new facilities is planned for Wednesday.
The Peter C. Cook Center opened for the fall 2011 semester, offering MBA programs in accounting, finance, health care and strategic management. The center bearing his name also is home to Davenport's Institute for Professional Excellence. That's a professional development arm of the university that helps employers provide training for emerging leaders within their ranks.
Cook was a 1936 graduate of the Davenport-McLachlan Institute,
