Benton Harbor Schools should come out even this fiscal year after the school board approved a budget modification Monday night, according to the Herald Palladium.
The original plan for this fiscal year was to finish the year with a surplus of about $600,000, but the new budget only allows for a surplus of about $30,000. School officials say the district is working to be more conservative.
The district originally expected a larger enrollment, but it has 50 less students than last year.
