Ivy Tech Community College and Ball State University are making it easier for people to earn degrees to teach in Indiana elementary schools.
The two colleges signed an agreement Tuesday under which students can complete a two-year associate degree in elementary education at Ivy Tech, then receive up to 62 credit hours when they transfer to Ball State.
Working adults also will be able to take their final two years of classes from Ball State online.
Ball State will provide the curriculum for the Ivy Tech program. The agreement takes effect in July.
