Some students in Cassopolis got a big surprise Tuesday!
Every student in Mrs. Burns class at Sam Adams Elementary received a free bike and helmet!
For the past several months, the kids have been working hard to boost their reading skills.
Thanks to Wal-Mart and their ‘trucker buddy’ Deb, the entire state chipped in to give them this reward!
“I started off at the top of the state in Sault St. Marie and worked my way down, asking different stores, if they would be willing to donate a bicycle and a helmet and this is the fruitage of that," says Debbie Bosworth.
The Wal-Mart truck driver says doing this for them has been a great experience and to “make a difference in their reading has really been an added bonus.”
The students didn't waste anytime breaking in their new rides!
Minutes after they got them, the kids were allowed to ride around in the school parking lot.
