Lack of discipline and respect has led to teachers and staff being the biggest victims of bullying (by both students and parents) in schools these days! It's appalling...

OMG! Such a waste of money... Have the teachers take an hour and talk to the students about it. Post reminders in the hallway. You're laying off teachers, but you can afford billboards to make children aware of bullies? Do you realize most children are playing DS's in their parents car while it's driving??? Or not even paying attention to stuff like that??? Such a big waste of money. Maybe if parents taught their kids the proper way to act in situations like this we wouldn't have to waste time and money "teaching" kids how they should be acting.

It amazes me how people will fly off the handle and make assumptions when it is obvious that they have not read the article. The first sentence of the article is MICHIANA BUSINESSES ARE TEAMING UP WITH THE SBCSC... Implying that the BUSINESSES are providing the money for this campaign. No, unreal, the truly thuggish kids won't care. However, the borderline bullies ARE swayed by this kind of thing, as they will NOT bully if it is going to make them unpopular or not fit in. Even if it makes ONE KID change there mind about being a bully, it is worth it.

What a sensless waste of tax payers money. Do you think the thugs at these schools are going to take 10 seconds to read or remember a billboard before they start a gang fight? Give me a break! How about we hire back a teacher or two that will loose their jobs at the end of the year! Only in South Bend.

I hope the billboards are donated since they can't keep staff due to budget and other money issues.....
