A standing ovation for Clarence Garrett as he received his bachelor's degree yesterday.
The 87-year-old World War II vet enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2006 after a 50-year gap in his college education.
Chancellor Carlos Santiago said he's not certain Garrett is the oldest to ever graduate from the school, but he did say it's been some time since there's been a grad who was born when Woodrow Wilson was president.
Garrett says after all his children went to college, he figured "Why shouldn't I?" And he added, "I have loved it ever since."
