A 14-year-old male student has been arrested after another threat of a school shooting put Concord Junior High School on edge. The student is in the Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center.

The superintendent of Concord Community Schools, George Dyer, began updating parents with an automated phone call at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff's office, the note was found on Monday in a bathroom. It said the shooting would happen during the 1st or 2nd hours of class on Tuesday.

Captain Jim Bradberry says officers began their investigation Monday night and worked with the school to put security measures into place. A tip caller gave them the name of the student believed to be responsible for the note and School Resource Officer Rich Matteson
located the suspect, taking the 14-year-old male into custody. He's been arrested for felony intimidation.

Even with the arrest, school staff and police officers are taking precautions Tuesday morning. They were searching lockers, buses, staff members and students as they entered the school.

Bradberry said police are investigating whether this and another threat last Friday are connected.

A 16-year-old girl was also arrested last Friday for making a bomb threat at Concord Senior High School.
