While many people were hitting the malls Saturday, there was a lot of bowling going on in Niles to raise money for scholarships.
Joey Armadillos in Niles held the Adult-Youth Scholarship Turkey Tournament, with the top highest scorers receiving $150 towards schooling from the USBC Smart Scholarship fund.
The tournament is a pairs competition where children as young as six and adults up to 21 compete to see who can get the best turkey, or better yet, a perfect game.
Chris Marlin of the Niles Bowling Association said, "If they've never bowled in an adult league then they're considered amateur. So, we have six year olds out here that have never even bowled before, so they're in for a whole new experience. It's going to be a lot of fun."
The winners can use the money towards anything education related from books to room and board.
