Subaru is recalling more than 275,000 Forester SUVs to fix a problem with the seat belts.

Federal safety regulators say the recall affects certain Cubaru Foresters from the 2009 to 2012 model years.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety administration's website, the rear center seat belt does not meet federal safety standards.

The seat belt may not hold a child's carseat in place securely, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Subaru dealers will begin replacing the seat belts free of charge beginning April 13.
