Farmers are saying "don't blame us for the high price of food."

Iowa Senator Charles Grassley is one of two farmers in the Senate. Ethanol production is getting the brunt of the blame for the hike in food costs, but Grassley says there are plenty of reasons for the spike, including high gas prices and drought.

The Iowa senator says farmers see little of what consumers pay, getting only about a nickel per box for corn flakes.

This is a bunch of crap. I know that they are planting a new strain of corn that yields 3 ears of corn per stalk just for this. Dont tell us that the regular corn is all being used up for this! WE are NOT dummies~!!

This is SO untrue ! They see the gas companys getting away with it so they are doing the same ! Being as GREEDY as they can. What an excuse to make food unaffordable. I bet they eat Ribeye Steak and Lobster every night ! Greedy Pigs ! Grow Hemp and refine the seeds to make bio-gas ! DO SOMETHING before I die of starvation ! Please. Guess I'm too legal to get Welfare ! Too proud also that's why I dropped 40lbs and I wasn't fat to begin with!

Keep making ethanol, and my gas bill(I use it in my car) will stay lower than the rest.
