It's the end of an era for Encyclopedia Britannica and memories from childhood for many of us. After 244 years, it will stop making its multi-volume sets.

Britannica usually prints a new set every two years, but 2010's 32-volume set will be its last. Heading forward, the company will focus solely on its digital encyclopedia and education tools.

Britannica's president says the move is a natural part of his company's evolution. The company says it will keep selling print editions until the current stock of 4,000 sets runs out.
