Santa's helpers are busy making deliveries over the next couple of days. Shipping and delivery companies say the final ground rush is on.
Gifts ordered for Christmas have mostly been shipped and are in the hands of elves who are working overtime to get them delivered.
Companies like UPS say for the most part, the vast majority of boxes have been shipped and are now at processing centers being sorted and placed on delivery trucks.
David Lattimore, UPS Driver, explains how much people love the UPS man, “And people love the UPS man, they love when we knock on that door because we always bring something that they ordered, we always bring good news to our customers."
UPS estimates this will end up being the busiest day of the year with some 26 million packages processed. It's also the busiest day of the year for UPS Airlines.
The flights arrive at the UPS World Center in Louisville, Kentucky where the boxes are then scattered to points all around the world.
Retailers are reporting higher online sales this year, and UPS officials say they have certainly seen evidence of that.
There's still a very slim window left for deliveries. UPS, and Fed Ex both, will make Saturday deliveries, for a higher charge.
