Amazon's feeling the heat from Kindle Fire complaints, and will have an update to help smooth out the kinks with the gadget.

That's according to the New York Times, which reports consumers are complaining about problems with the touch screen and issues with privacy control.

In a statement, Amazon says it will roll out an update in less than two weeks to improve performance and touch navigation. Customers will also be able to choose what items display on the carousel.
