Thanksgiving dinner to cost more this year

Thanksgiving is coming up, and you may want to prepare to spend a little more money, because the cost of that big meal will be a bit higher this year.

The American Farm Bureau estimates a meal with turkey and all the trimmings will cost about 13 percent more this Thanksgiving compared to last year. The bureau says the average cost to make a meal for ten people will be $49.20.

Costs for nearly all the trimmings, from cranberries to pumpkin pie, are up, but the main course has been hit with the biggest price hike. A 16 pound turkey will cost about four-percent more than last year, at an average price of $21.57.
