Last week police arrested DiAnn Reamer, 50, on a felony theft charge. Authorities say she used her St. Joseph County travel agency, Theran Travel, to scam tens of thousands of dollars from families looking to book vacations.

Reamer cost Chris Glennon and Audra Herman a dream honeymoon only weeks before their wedding next month.

"It was going to be our first vacation together, that dream everyone has,” Glennon said sitting inside the Koontz Lake barbershop he owns.

Since getting engaged in February 2010, every free second has gone to planning, every dime to saving.

"Everything was right; she [Reamer] took her time, she showed us different options, she made sure it was everything that we wanted. She was so down to earth,” Herman recalled.

In February, Reamer booked the couple an eight day trip to Jamaica. She instructed them to order passports and organized a down payment of $1800, for a trip that was never booked.

"I’ve been married for 25 years and you have your ups and downs through it, but it's just a shame that they have to experience a down before they even start,” Glennon’s mother Angie said.

Like most of her other clients, Reamer met with Chris and Audra inside her St. Joseph County home at 60000 Myrtle Road. It’s the same place NewsCenter 16’s Joel Schipper interviewed Reamer for a report on spring break deals.

"It can take six to eight weeks to expedite your passport,” Reamer said during an on-camera interview only five days before she accepted Chris and Angie’s down payment.

However, since her arrest, no one has answered or returned phone call to comment on decisions that have ruined plans for at least half a dozen local families.

"The worst part of it all is now we need to get away more than we did before, but it's probably not going to happen anytime soon,” Herman concluded.

As of Saturday night, Reamer remained behind bars at the St. Joseph County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
