You can plant a new tree in your backyard, for free, all thanks to AEP and the city of South Bend.

The tree giveaway on Saturday is all part of the 24th annual Earth and Arbor Festival, which is going on from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Potawatomi Park in South Bend.

The official city tree planting kicks off at 10 a.m., and all day visitors can receive a free tree. That’s not all – kids can make a bird feeder, visit educational ecology displays or plant a mini garden.

There will also be live musical performances throughout the day.
