A local high school choir was honored to share the stage Saturday night with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra.
The Elkhart Memorial High School choir was the invited guest at the symphony's annual "Home for the Holidays" concert at the Morris performing Arts Center. The symphony reached out to the choir last spring after their impressive performance at a state contest last year.
Most of the students had never performed in the Morris before. They were nervous, but well-prepared. The Symphony's director went to Memorial several times to help the students rehearse.
Memorial's 115-member choir included members of the Women's Chorale, Concert Choir, and Advanced Chamber Choir. Guest artists Leon Williams (Baritone) and the Parish Handbell Choir of St. Pius X also participated in the concert.
If you missed Saturday's concert, you can still catch Sunday's matinee at 3:00 p.m. Tickets range from $13.25 to $57.25. For more information, contact the Morris box office at 574-235-9190, or see the "Related Links" below.
