Relay for Life events kicking off in Michiana

Sunday is 24th anniversary of National Cancer Survivors Day. Right now, there are about 11 million cancer survivors living in the United States.

Each weekend in June, the American Cancer Society is holding a Relay for Life event in the area. Relay for Life helps celebrate cancer survivorship and rally our local communities to fight back against the disease.

Each Relay for Life event has a survivor victory lap and a luminaria ceremony.

The upcoming events are:

  • June 10-11: Starke County
    3 p.m.-9 a.m., Starke County Fairgrounds, Hamlet

  • June 11-12: South Bend
    2 p.m.-8 a.m., Jackson Middle School, South Bend

  • June 11-12: Elkhart County-South
    3 p.m.-9 a.m., Goshen High School, Goshen

  • June 17-18: LaPorte County
    3 p.m.-9 a.m., Michigan City High School

  • June 18-19: Marshall County
    2 p.m.-8 a.m., Centennial Park, Plymouth

  • June 25-26: Elkhart County-North
    10 a.m.-10 p.m., Elkhart Central High School

  • June 25-26: Berrien County
    10 a.m.-8 a.m., Berrien County Fairgrounds, Berrien Springs

  • July 9-10: Niles-Buchanan
    12 p.m.-8 a.m., Niles High School, Niles

  • July 23-24: Edwardsburg
    10 a.m.-10 a.m., Edwardsburg
