Having more than 3,000 cars drive through your quiet neighborhood in two days may not seem like a relaxing weekend, but it is what one Mishawaka neighborhood strives for!

The Mishawaka neighborhood of Windingbrook near the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center lights up the holiday nights every year with nearly 70 percent of the homes displaying a light show.

This is the 35th year the homes have been taking part.

Donations given at the entrance to the three mile tour go towards eight local charities including Hannah's House and Center for the Homeless.

For the thousands of cars that go through every weekend, it is a nice, slow paced break from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.

Modester Chatta was out touring the light display.

He said, “You know, in these hard times you want to see something bright that will remind you that there's still some good will, you know it's fun times to see the lights, bring smiles to everyone, the kids are loving it, the husband's loving it, it's fun!”

If you would still like to check out the lights, you can from 6 – 10 p.m. this Monday through Thursday and 6 – 11 p.m. this Friday through the final night which is Sunday, December 26.
