For the third year in a row, speedboats are sitting offshore in Michigan City for the Great Lakes Grand Prix.
The Grand Prix features speedboats racing past Washington Park Beach competing for the championship title.
The annual event is sponsored by Super Boat International.
In its first two years, the race brought nearly 200,000 spectators to the area and nearly $12 million into the economy.
Boats will launch Saturday at Noon from Washington Park. But many of the big races are on Sunday, starting at 11 a.m.
