The second annual Dollar Dog Wash benefitting Pet Refuge will take place on Saturday morning at the Notre Dame Federal Credit Union in Granger.

People from around the area can bring in their dogs and for $1, can get them a simple wash. For $5, dogs can receive a pedicure.

People involved with the event said it is a great way to support the Pet Refuge.

"Dogs, you know, really can't control their destinies and by chance they find themselves in situations where they're abandoned and or abused, God forbid," said Tom Gryp, President and CEO of Notre Dame Federal Credit Union. "It's really not fair to them to have their life end because of that bad break at the beginning."

The Dollar Dog Wash hopes to raise their $2,500 in 2011.

The event will be from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
