You can celebrate the hall weekend by heading to Elkhart to join in this year’s Oktoberfest.

It is the third year for the event, and this year they are adding a chili cook-off to the festivities. Of course, there still the annual German-inspired food, a beer garden, music and a cornhole tournament.

The Pillars of Elkhart, a group of young professionals who do local volunteer work, sponsor the event.

Oktoberfest is going on Saturday from 1-9 p-m in the Elkhart’s Central Park and the Civic Plaza area off South Main Street.

The money raised will be donated to the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Elkhart County.
