Spaying or neutering your pets can help control the over-abundance of homeless animals in Michiana but it can also be expensive. Tuesday, pet owners can get the procedure done at a reduced rate.

Nine local veterinary clinics are offering discount vouchers for purchase, or you can purchase and then donate the voucher back the clinic to support your favorite animal welfare agency.

South Bend Animal Care and Control and CARE of South Bend are also hosting a "Hacienda Gives Back" event at the two South Bend Hacienda locations Tuesday. Those are located at 4650 Miami Street and 3903 Portage Avenue.
