Ziker Cleaners begins its 23rd annual coat drive on Monday to help Michiana families stay warm this winter.

The "Coats for Kids" drive accepts winter coats at any Ziker store in South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart or Granger until December 5th.

Ziker will hand them out to needy kids in local school corporations in mid-December, right before the holidays.

“This year I'm sure the need will be a lot greater,” said Jennifer Probst of Ziker. “The economy, people are trying to pay their gas bills and their electricity bills, and anyway we can help… You know the community has provided for us for over 90 years, so it's our way of giving back.”

Ziker's has collected more than 205,000 coats since the drive began in 1986.
