October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to honor the month, Lakeland HealthCare Facilities will host Pink Saturdays.

It’s a program that offers women without insurance free mammograms each Saturday in October.

You must make an appointment to receive the screening. To find out if you are eligible and to schedule a free mammogram, call 1-800-873-0649.

It is estimated that about 10,000 women over the age of 40 in southwestern Michigan are uninsured and not covered for mammograms.
