Get ready to run!

Girls on the Run of Berrien County is holding their first annual 5K run Thursday night.

It's happening at the St. Joseph High School Dickinson Stadium at 6.

The 5K event is the end of a 10 week learning program for girls in grades 3 through 5.

Since early March, over 225 girls throughout Berrien County have trained for the event while learning about character development, making healthy lifestyle choices, and self esteem.

While the running event focuses on the Girls on the Run program participants, the event is open to the public.
