It is a Memorial Day weekend tradition to get down and dirty with the Sod Busters Mud Bog.

The Sod Busters Memorial Day Mud Bog is going on this Sunday.

Hundreds of people are expected to head out and watch cars and trucks of all sizes try to get across a giant mud pit.

Nearly 130 monster trucks and drivers will be tearing through the mud, while kids can take part in a kiddie mud bog.

For nearly 20 years, Sod Busters has been teaming up with local charities. This weekend, they'll be raising money for the Center for Hospice in St. Joseph County.

Organizers say while the event is fun for the whole family, it's the reason for the event that makes it worthwhile.

"We wanted to pull in a local not-for-profit several years ago to give back to the community, because the majority of the people who attend are locals. So this is something to not only have a wonderful time, but to also give back to the community," says Jim Renner, a member of Sod Busters.

The event begins this Sunday at 10 a.m. in South Bend. Click on the link below for more information.
