Sunday was the annual Chili Cook-off at Heritage Square in Mishawaka.
18 local restaurants sent their best chili concoctions to the contest, where they were judged by the public, and a panel of celebrity guests.
Organizers say the cook off is a win-win for chili lovers and chefs.
"It is exposure to restaurants that participate. And of course, who wins that trophy can put it up at their location, and it's bragging rights,” said Ralph Pieniazkiewicz.
The chili cook-off was sponsored by the American Culinary Federation.
Half the proceeds go to scholarships, and the other half goes to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
