Penn High School's Spell Bowl squad raced to its second win of the young season on Thursday night with a near perfect score of 89 at the Winamac Invitational.
The Kingsmen topped a six team field, just missing a perfect score of 90.
On Monday, the Kingsmen spellers took top honors at the East Noble Invitational.
Here are the final standings at the Winamac Invitational:

Nine varsity spellers for Penn turned in perfect scores of nine. They are: Leah Hershberger, Nisha Bhatt, Nitin Arora, Alex Cao, Austin Heckaman, Maaz Arif, Sheena Shah, Jenny Huang abd Christy Chang.
Completing perfect rounds for the Penn junior varsity were: Laura Harmon, Uifei
Hu , Nithin Varadharajan, Richard Jung, Neena KallooKulangara, Maddy Anderson and Andy Wang.
In topping the five opponents at Winamac, the Kingsmen recorded their 1008th
opponent defeated since 1994. It was also the team's 58th invitational title
since 1994.
Next up for Penn is the Lakeland Invitational on Sept. 27 followed by the Penn
Invitational on Sept. 30.
