Next month you can help the American Cancer Society “Make Strides against Breast Cancer” at their annual walk.
According to the American Cancer Society, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes.
“Thousands of women and men across Michiana will unite in their fight for a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays,” said Paul Szrom, the director of American Cancer Society of North Central Indiana. “We encourage everyone to start a new family tradition and honor our mothers, grandmothers, and all breast cancer survivors by participating in this year’s event.”
Organizers say they’ve raised more than $400 million across the country in these walks since 1993. Last year alone they collected $60 million.
This year's walk in South Bend is at Howard Park on October 23. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m.
