Hey all...

I just finished watching Oprah interview former Alaskan Governor & Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin.  I know many of you probably did too or will see clips of it for the next couple days (thanks, youtube).  Regardless of your views on her there were a number of topics she covered with Oprah which I found intriguing.

Love her or hate her - the fact is Sarah Palin is extremely well-spoken.  She appeared cool as a cucumber and answered all of Oprah's questions except if she will run in 2012.  I thought Oprah covered everything we wanted to hear and was quite fair.

The interview got just a tad catty when Oprah mentioned the Katie Couric interview Palin did on the campaign trail.  Sarah didn't hold back - referring to Couric as "the perky one" and laying it out how she thought the interview was skewed.  She also was quick to affirm her marriage to Todd as "very strong" and her life consists of her family and "God and Todd" as being top priorities.  She looked stunning and her poise made you forget - or really care - if she was dead-on when it came to answering the questions how you wanted to hear.  She's a very skillful interviewee and knows how to word her answers.  Her new book Going Rouge is already a massive best-seller even before it's officially on sale.

Then there's the segment about Levi Johnston - Palin's daughter's former boyfriend and the father of her child (aka her "baby daddy").  Palin had the "it is what it is" approach when it comes to the tongue-lashing Levi has given the family - saying Sarah Palin refers to her Down syndrome son as "the retarded one."  Levi has been very much in the spotlight in the last few months - on pretty much every gossip show and bashing the Palins - ironically he said his dream is to "be an actor" and in the spotlight.  Duh.  Also, this month he will appeared in Playgirl magazine - fully nude showing his, well, 'johnston' - because he said "that's what the ladies want."  Um, Levi, you do know women are not the ones reading Playgirl, right?   He said he's now reading scripts to decide his next venture - that's shocking...who knew he could read?

Check out the interview online - it's interesting.   http://www.oprah.com/dated/oprahshow/oprahshow-20091111-sarah-palin

The economy already is in shambles, Al & that's because of your boy, W. Hey, let's have tax cuts for the rich, & spend like a drunken sailor for 8 years, that's the way to run an ecomomy...into the ground. Do you acknowledge Hawaii is a state, because that might be part of the birth certificate problem. I know it's an exotic place, & has lots of people that don't look like you, but it is indeed a state. Palin does give the conservatives the red meat they desire. Get everyone wound up & emotional, & watch their common sense & attention to real pertinent issues, if they had any to begin with, fly out the window. I find it amazing that the writers on SNL didn't really have to do any writing. They just had Tina Fey rattle off the stupidity that Palin had already said herself.

I can't watch Oprah. She is old news and very, very boring. Oprah's dull looking face and Monotone expression is so bad as an interviewer. She clearly doesn't care about her guests and topics. She's so bored with it all that her show is lifeless. Oprah sucks the life out of me therefore, I can't watch her. I get the impression that she hates people...funny isn't it, when we are the ones who made her rich (She's very ungrateful to all of us who made her rich). Oprah can't give a good interview since she doesn't pay attention to the guests or the guests answers, she too busy looking at herself in the moniter. Ya know, when you really look at her... She is a very ugly woman. yuck. I'm glad she calling it quits, i just wish it was sooner than 2012. boring.

Al, your comments are so short sighted, your are exactly what Palin needs as followers. To dwell on birth issues and least of all academic issues of the President are typical right wind fodder for "usurpation of the rules" you say Obama performed. 24% interest rates? Follow Doug Kass, Jamie Dimond, The Gartman Letter and 24% interest rates are impossible. Lets guess, do you EVER watch MSNBC do get both sides of issues, or is FOX the only source of info? If 24% is coming, are you investing in ETFs? What sectors? Enlighten us with your economic wisdom that you share with President Palin!

I would take Sarah Palin any day of the week over the nations first "affirmativeaction" president. The president who has yet shown his birth certificate or his academic standing that qualified him to be president. The only thing I can see is an economy in shambles. By 2012 this president will make Jimmy Carter seem like a road scholar. Intrest rates will be 18 to 24% before he is voted out of office. CHANGE is coming JANUARY 20, 2013 to President Palin.

More Palin! the longer she drags out her bible belt, gun toting side show, ignoring any concrete examples of how to improve the nations economy, fight terror or educate children is another chance the republican party has missed. She is truly Rush's mouthpiece with a Bump-it. The mere fact that she atended 6 colleges in 4 years tells volumes.

Just a question, when was the last time someone who had been nominated for vp, after the campaign, and was on the losing end, decided he/she had to quit their job, write a book (can you say fast?) and go on a tour with a baby and all in tow? Like it was called this a.m., it is a circus and soap opera, that is all it is folks.

She,s the closes thing to White Trash that I have ever seen. She a disgrace to the Conservative party.

I agree with some of her points of view and disagree on others. One thing for certain.....I am SICK of hearing about the whole bunch of them! Two years ago I didn't even know who the heck she was. Now we have to all about what they wear, what they eat, ect. And now Levi "Palin" thinks he's gods gift to women and wants to bless us all with his nakedness. Seriously.......

Ted to this liberal thinker your post is almost comical in how your first 7 sentences (well, kind of sentences) read. Let me change just a couple words as follows: _ was a terrible choice for the Democratic ticket. _is a good "rehearsed" and coached speaker though! Remember the debates. Polished! _ attended Occidental college for two years before attending Columbia but graduated with no academic honors and a degree in politcal science. A well rehearsed speaker, who has a polished look who has definate (sp) sales abilities. Mix in being in the right place at the right time and it adds up to a terrible choice for the Democratic party (and the nation). Who is the mystery candidate Ted? Your post helps nothing.

Sarah was a terrible choice for the republican ticket. She is a good "rehearsed" and coached speaker though! Remember the debates. Polished! She attended five no-name colleges over six years to get a four-year journalism degree and there isn't anyone at any of the colleges that remember her. A well rehearsed speaker, who has a polished look who has definate sales abilities. Mix in being in the right place at the right time and it adds up to a terrible choice for the republican party. A certain group liked her, but she seemed to be disliked by many republicans as well. Oprah had her on AFTER she lost the election. Oprah refused to have her on before the election. I would never back a white man because he was white man. I think it is dumb to back someone because he is black or a woman or even belong to a party they identify with. Voting for someone because they are black or white or a man or a woman is just plain dumb.

Nice interview. I liked Sarah from the moment she came on the scene during the 2008 election campaign - and still do regardless of prior interviews, negative publicity, etc. Levi seems to be one of those people I have a hard time believing that there’s any truth to what he’s saying – especially with the “baby father drama” involving him and the Palin family and trying to make a name for himself off of all of it. As for him in Playgirl, I can honestly say I’m one lady that does not want to see, um, that – I’m just saying. I always wondered if Sarah has ever said to herself – and/or Bristol – “Out of all the boys you could’ve chosen, you picked THAT one”.

She didn't say a whole lot of anything. She obviously rehearsed for the interview. Overall, she's a B!@#$.

I'm sorry. Did you write that she is "extremely well spoken?" That is hardly a fact. Her rambling resignation speech when she left Alaskan voters in the lurch is just one of many examples. Care to qualify that statement, Joel? Did you mean "In this interview with Oprah she was well spoken?" She's a detriment to the Republican party. Sure, she's good for the "base" but in terms of civil discourse, the "base" has little care for such things. I hope we can get back to the adults being in charge instead of the left and right wing loons.
