I’m in the home stretch now, only about 3 weeks till my due date. Who knows if little man will wait that long, I’m kind of hoping not! I ache, I swell, I itch, and sleep is something of the past. But feeling (and watching) him move around is so amazing. My in-laws have been here for the holidays, and they have had so much joy and entertainment watching my belly.
We have been working hard getting the house ready. The room is painted, the crib is assembled, dresser filled with tiny little clothes, the stroller is ready, and the car seat base will soon be installed. We have plenty of hats, booties and blankets to keep this child warm for a long time. We are almost there, just having to put on the finishing touches, and get a couple more things before he arrives.
I’m still trying to work up until the big day, though it is getting harder to do so. I may take a shift off here or there, or switch with others to make it easier. If you don’t see me, don’t worry, I’m sure when the eventful day arrives we’ll have the news on air plus on wndu.com.
For those wondering about my friend Alise, “Little” Charlie was born via c-section Monday morning (Dec. 28).  He lived for 2 daysand 3 hours. They feel so blessed for the time that they had with him, and are especially thankful for all the prayers from family, friends, and the many people who do not even know them, many right here in Michiana.
May you all find peace and happiness in the year to come.  Best wishes to all of you in 2010!

My advice: sleep when the baby sleeps...when people offer to help, take them up on it....and enjoy all of the special moments with your little one!! Good Luck!!!

I remember the days you are going through. My baby is 7 months old and i was so ready to deliver. I was 4 days late and they ended up inducing labor. Just hang in there it seems like it is forever at the end. To give some relief to my back my doctor suggested a hot tup turned down to 98 degrees. It felt great for the time i was in there. You can do it and the end result is remarkable. I look at my daughter daily and am so very blessed to have her in my life. Good Luck!

Congratulations! Now, take a deep breath and take at least a week off to "nest".... you will need to be well rested when your baby boy gets here! We'll miss you, but know that you are having "the time of your life"!!!

Oh, Cindi, it has been so fun watching you grow! I always try to watch to see if you have "dropped" yet. I myself am 7 months pregnant with my second child and have had trouble sleeping already! I am having a boy this time and I think the pregnancy with my daughter was much easier. Many blessings to you and your husband as your family grows and your life changes forever. Being a mother is so wonderful! Hang in there, it is so worth it in the end. Are you coming back to work?

Cindy, if you can pamper yourself by getting a massage! I know of some "ladies in waiting" near their due dates have had one and slept like a log afterwards...in fact, they really needed someone to pick them up-they felt that relaxed! You deserve it!

All the best Cindy. The last few weeks are a pain, but the end result is well worth it. My prayers and thoughts are with your friend Alise. God has a plan for all of us, and we never know what the future holds. May God bring peace to Alise and her family. Sit back and rest, because your life will never be the same again....ha ha...

Thank you for letting us know about Little Charlie. While I am very sad for his family, I am glad they were able to hold him and enjoy him. My heart goes out to them and they are lucky to have you as a friend. You are so professional on TV, we can't even tell you are in pain. Try to get as much rest as you can. Blessings to you and best wishes for an easy delivery.
