Hey all...
Jesse Jackson is in hot water...again. He recently made comments about Barrack Obama while not knowing his mic was still on after an interview. All public figures know just because the interview is over doesn't mean the microphone is turned off. He was bashing Obama because of his support for faith based charities with Jackson saying he wanted to "cut his [Obama] nut's off." Ouchy.
Jesse Jackson for years has been looked to as a leader of moral authorities. Also, he is a Baptist Reverend. However, back in 2001 he fathered a child out of wedlock and apologized. He said those statements about Obama and apologized calling it a "historical moment." What? How? This is not an Obama issue. It's a Jesse Jackson issue. It would be just as big a deal if he would have said that about McCain....but the fact he supports Obama and says this behind is back is questionable. Did Jackson just show his true feelings? Who knows.
Many people today are questioning his authority to preach what is right and wrong. Many say it's very much a 'Do as I say - not as I do' mentality. Many people will also say everything Jackson says must be blamed on race. That it's always black people who have bad things happen to them. Is it really? During Hurricane Katrina he called the media to a press conference telling news outlets to not use the word "refugee" and they should be called "displaced persons" - that refugee is a racist word. News organizations didn't followed suit.
Gimme a break.
Does he really support Obama publicly AND privately? If so, do true supporters speak negatively about someone behind their backs then do an about-face and smile when in front of them and the cameras? Interesting. After the recent Obama comments, many NBC political analysts say Jackson needs to go away for a while and lay low - that he needs to think before he speaks or it will come back and bite him.
It did.
Have a great day!
