Hey all...
An incredible day to say the least. Osama Bin Laden has been found and killed - ending a decade (technically two) of terror, death, and hatred.
Our U.S. military needs to be held to the highest regards - especially the Navy Seals. Whether you support or hate the fighting in the middle east supporting our troops is a must if you're an American.
I was in the newsroom around 10:00 p.m. when I heard an NBC news break come across the NBC scanner near the assignment desk. We knew it was important - very important. I began facebooking and keeping viewers updated up-to-the-minute with what we were being told from NBC. I knew the 11 p.m. newscast (which actually began at midnight) would be a memorable one - it was for all journalists last night.
The news coverage of Bin Laden's death will continue for quite a while - as did his terror reign over the United States and the world. As a journalist I can't really say what I think of Bin Laden and the fact we caught him - obviously an amazing day for America. But I will say it was a job well done and this scum (easy, Joel) who killed so many people will now rot at the bottom of the ocean.
Our nightmare is over and we should all be extremely proud to be Americans.
God bless America.
