Wouldn't it be nice to keep your phone, your favorite book and your TV remote control nearby when you are relaxing in bed?
Have you tried portable night stands but they are just too bulky or get in the way?
I tested a night stand that might just be the perfect bed-mate. It is called "My Bedside Table".
This one is lightweight and portable, and you can supposedly use this with just about any kind of bed like bunk beds and even water beds.
But would "My Bedside Table" get sent to the guest room in our As Seen On TV test?
Here is my bedside table. It comes in about six pieces and assembles fairly easily, just about anybody can do it.
Here is my night stand that is basically cluttered and often I have to reach over to my left to grab my book, the phone or whatever.
The nice thing about My Bedside Table is you don't have to screw anything in, it essentially fits in between the box spring and the mattress and you just slide it in. As we know, mattresses come in different sizes and with My Bedside Table it adjusts from 13 inches to 17 inches in height. You just have these little buttons here on the side to help your adjust to whatever height you need.
You can also reverse the legs so the table itself is actually over the mattress, so if you want to have breakfast in bed or eat popcorn in bed while watching a movie. That way it is not hanging over the floor and you can keep everything over the bed.
Okay, now I have got My Bedside Table in place and I will not have to be reaching too far to my left to get anything, I will not have that cluttered night stand, and just about everything I need I can put on here.
This is about a three or four pound laptop. We will see if it can hold that. Yeah, it is sturdy. I have got a nice little novel here, my cell phone, bottle of water and of course, the most important item of all, the remote control, and, as you can see, they are all within easy reach and seem to be stable on this bedside table, which I will call mine.
The nice thing about My Bedside Table is that you can use it on either side of the bed, right or left. It might also be a great thing to have in a dorm room in a college where space is at a premium.
So, there is no tabling this decision. My Bedside Table gets the thumbs up.
About the only thing I did not like about My Bedside Table is that it does not fold up as easily as the manufacturer claims.
I paid $20 for mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They can also be bought on-line, by visiting here.
Next week, we are heading back to the bedroom. This time, for folks who enjoy working on their laptop while in bed, it is called My Cozy Colors Laptop Desk.
It is essentially a pillow with a small desktop and light attached to it.
It claims it keeps your lap cool and your laptop comfortable as you surf the net whether you are in bed, on the couch, or riding in the car.
But would My Cozy Colors Laptop Desk get taken off-line in our As Seen On TV test? Find out next Monday, Just Before Six.
