What’s the best way to crack an egg? The EZ Cracker claims it’s the answer, and promises to make cracking eggs a snap.

Manufacturers say their product will give you perfectly cracked eggs every time, but would the EZ Cracker get shell shocked in our As Seen On TV Test?

Cracking eggs can be very difficult. Part of the shell usually ends up in the frying pan or on the mixing bowl. We’ll start testing the EZ Cracker by making fried eggs. To start, just grab an egg and put it in the EZ cracker and hold it over the pan and in one easy motion, you have yourself a nice egg. Even after several tries, each egg is perfectly cracked. The EZ Cracker makes a perfect split, with no small fragments stuck on the membrane.

The EZ Cracker also claims to work well with hard boiled egg shells, but it didn't make getting a hard boiled egg unshelled any easier.

You're also supposed to be able to use the EZ Cracker to separate the egg whites from the yolk, with an attachment that comes with the EZ Cracker. You have to shake it a little bit to get it completely separated, and the egg white comes out of the slots. It gives a pretty clean separation, although it takes a little too long.

For somebody who has trouble cracking eggs, the EZ Cracker is the product to buy. It didn't do a great job with the hard boiled eggs and it was okay with separating the egg white from the yolk, but overall, the EZ Cracker didn't crack under the weight of our As Seen On TV Test and we're going to give it the thumbs up.

The EZ Cracker is not dishwasher safe. You must wash it by hand in warm soapy water.

They cost about $15 at Walgreens, and they’re in a lot of stores all over the internet.
