Do you struggle opening that tough plastic packaging that so many products come in these days? Can't find a screwdriver small enough to open the battery compartment of a small appliance?
How about getting the plastic wrap off a new CD? If so, this week's As Seen On TV test may interest you. Here’s more on the Open It.
Instead of rifling through your drawers looking for different tools to open different things, how about looking in the same drawer for one product that claims to do five jobs?
The Open It is billed as five tools in one, and it was actually created after a survey of women, to figure out what type of tool they could use around the house to help them opening a variety of different items.
The end of it is a scissor type of apparatus, to cut things. Actually, the way it is designed it is set out, this is so you can open those plastic packages that seem so tough to get open. You put the snips on the side and the design keeps it so your hands don't get close to the sharp plastic.
The second of it's uses, there's a blade in the handle. This will help you open CD cases, and packages that are taped tightly. The blade is on a spring so it pops right into the handle, and you pop the handle cover right back on when your done using it.
The third use for the Open It, is to cut through those zipper twist ties that often hold down model cars and other toys, and junior is ready to play with his new tow truck.
Use number four for the Open It is bottle tops. You just close the handles and lock them together and you have a bottle opener. Use number five for the Open It, you ever have something like a vacuum where you need a small phillips head screwdriver? The Open It has one. It worked really well taking the brush cover off a vacuum.
There you have it, five common household jobs that the Open It did admirably, very well, lived up to it's promises. So, if you want to open up the possibilities of making life easier around your house I'd recommend the Open It, and it gets the big thumbs up.
You've probably seen the Smooth Away advertised on TV, it's billed as the European way to remove hair from legs and other sensitive areas without the pain of shaving.
Actually one of our female producers has been using Smooth Away for several weeks and we'll see what she thinks about it. Tune in next Monday, just before 6, for this hair raising As Seen on TV Test.
I paid $10 for my Open It at Bed, Bath and Beyond. You can also find it on the internet. We have a link on the Big Red Bar.
